Top Ten Photo Moments

430ish pictures can really overwhelm a blogger. So, here's the lowdown:

Day 2 & 3: After the embassy appointment, we finally relaxed at the guest house and did nothing but bond and attach with our boy for the remainder of our trip. A lot of coloring, painting, tickling, giggling, cuddling, eating, snacking, dancing, reading stories, and even talking on the phone to bubby and sissy.

We continue to be amazed at the way God blessed our time with Joshua. We couldn't have asked for better attachment and bonding moments. He melted our hearts and God has used this trip to teach us how to pray.

Here are some "highlight" pictures to enjoy, and the rest will be here and there.

The Top Ten:

10. the "Daniel Look"
9. "Mommy Wanna Cracker?" He was always looking to share his snacks and sippy cup!

8. Can a smile be more gorgeous?
7. He was LoViNg all of the attention. Oh yeah.

6. He followed Daddy around and they bonded over remote controls to fans, batteries, wires for our chargers and stuff that came apart. Hilarious, how God made him a Burke ALL the way in Haiti...5. Butter, Baby! He had watched Daddy toast and make his buttered bread each morning (He's a big bread fan, just like his bubby!) and the last morning, we let him do it himself. He started out buttering the bread, but before long, he was just eating big chunks of butter. Hee hee.4. His mischevious side. He loved to "ignore" Daddy until Daddy left the room, and then he would call out for him "Daddy!" until he returned...and then he'd run right back to mommy. Nutty kid.

3. He's "brushing" his hair with a crayon. He loved to groom himself. He'd grab our toiletries and shake them all over himself and pretend he was putting it on.

2. The only decent family shot.

1. He's looking up at me and I'm on the balcony above him. I called his name and he looks up LIKE THIS. This is the smile that shows me so much. He belongs with us.

Ooh...it's hard to choose a favorite! Seriously, I have never seen such an amazing smile on his face. Having momma and daddy love clearly agrees with him.

Isn't it just IMPOSSIBLE to get a good family shot in Haiti? We tried and tried, on more than one trip, and never got anything decent. I am so happy to see that he really seems to trust y'all. You can just see the contentment in his eyes... :)
