We are most definitely saying goodbye to October in a much quieter fashion than we entered it! No trick or treating for us this year. I was determined to NOT plop down $40 bucks on a costume, and my kids are getting older...the costumes get more expensive for older kids! So, we've rented a few movies for the weekend and we'll spend the rainy evenings inside. We've enjoyed the apple orchard and the cider and such. I may get some last minute candy for my kids to pass out. But, I'm sure it won't last long and we'll have to hide away for the rest of the evening!
Steve has lots of vehicle projects going...brakes that need changed, tinkering with some issues with his truck. If he can just get caught up with all of that, he'll have a HAPPY wife :~) I have a few projects of my own up my sleeve. I'd like to paint the bathroom and get rid of that nasty sponge paint from owner's past. Then, I'd like to paint the boy's room. Get it primed and ready for a new family member. I'll try to stop there, for now. The whole living room, hallway, our bedroom and our bathroom needs paint. But I won't go that far. :~)
Sis has been working on her baking badge for Keepers at Home. She completed her watercolor badge and her decoupage. She LOVES this club.

Daniel just had his try out for Upwards Basketball this week. From what I hear, he scored some 'swhoosh' three pointers, and he's quite excited that his dad is going to be his head coach this year, and some friends of ours are on his team and their brother will be assistant coach. A fun Upwards year for sure.
So, we're busy, busy, busy once again. Always something to do!
Then, of course, there's Thanksgiving and Christmas!! I'm quite excited about the holidays this year. I love visiting with my parents and we'll take off for a Thanksgiving weekend a bit early this year in Ohio. I've been looking at Christmas magazines and we even listened to a bit of Christmas music the other night. There was a point earlier this year that I dreaded the holidays the same way someone dreads a spinal tap.
But the bottom line is this. We've made so much progress, even if he's not here by Christmas, we have MUCH to be thankful for. God is moving on our behalf. It won't be long. I truly, truly believe that it won't be long. That combined with the fact that we've met him and we're all mutually in LOVE.
So I need to start making my list and checking it twice, come up with some crafty ideas and gifts, and enjoy this holiday season with my family. I'm trusting we'll soon be all together in one place.
Happy 26 Months, Dear Joshua! Momma Loves You!

Nope, your kiddo's have never been deprived. You and Steve always provide so much fun for them, no matter what!
I'm kind of tired of Halloween already...ready to go on to the other holidays now!
Sounds like great plans for the weekend! I refuse to pay that kind of money too. I spent 50 cents on Caleb's costume at a thrift store, two of the girls costumes came out of the dress up box, & the other one came from the neighbor across the street.
We wear old dance recital costumes, soccer uniforms, old karate gi's and so on. We don't buy costumes with the exception of a couple for my teens that I just couldn't pass up since they matched their personalities and were 90% off two weeks after Halloween- $4 each.
Love, love, love all the great pictures. Sounds like y'all are having a fun fall.
