Monkey Munch

We started a tradition last year (gotta start traditions somewhere, right?) of the sweet kind.

Every Sunday in December, we would make something tasty. Something sweet. Delectable. Delicious.
So, Sunday, we made MONKEY MUNCH.

Some people call it puppy chow, some call it muddy munch....it has lots of different names. I prefer monkey munch because that's what Kate calls it on Jon & Kate + 8, and I happen to be a fan.

Sis mixes....

Daddy shakes...

Daniel does the dishes...

And the final product is a hit!

Monkey Munch
(the recipe is on the back of the Rice Chex box, but for posterity's sake, I'll post it)

9 cups Rice Chex Cereal
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (I used milk chocolate)
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar (more if needed)

Measure out the cereal in a large bowl. In 1 quart bowl, microwave the peanut butter, chocolate, and butter on high for 1 minute. Stir. Microwave 30 seconds longer if needed, or until mixture is smooth. Pour over cereal and stir until you have an even coat. Add powdered sugar. Coat. Store in air-tight container or gallon ziplock bags.

ENJOY!

Yum! This stuff reminds me of the stuff called "white trash" made with white chocolate. I think your recipe looks better!

As for the yummy treat, I LOVE those. I have always called them "puppy chow".
