The Nutcracker Date

So, you might have guessed that our Mommy/Daughter Date involved the Nutcracker. You would be correct! We had a fabulous evening with Aunt Cristina and Elena, which all culminated into this: But before we could see that, we needed foo-foo-y hair. So, we scheduled appointments for the girls at a child's salon. Avery just about fell asleep having her hair done and Elena grooved to Spongebob the whole time. The end result: Foo-foo.

Avery wanted "hair like Belle's" (the Beauty and the Beast princess....I think they came through for her!)

Then, we went home to do the nails ourselves and take some Christmas photos. The photo shoot didn't last too long...it just kept getting goofier and goofier. The girls were hungry. But, we managed a few good shots.

Then, off to Cheddar's to share a mommy meal. Avery ate all of my shrimp. The fountain in front of Cheddar's was FROZEN. Very cool, folks. Very cool.

We sat in the cheap seats (or as Daddy would call them, the nosebleeds) but I actually prefer the nosebleeds. We're able to look down on everything like a magical music box. The snow falling from the tops of the theater when the Snow Fairy does her number is sooooo beautiful. It was like we were watching through a snow globe. Avery loved every single second.

Definitely, this was a date to remember. What a fun memory to make. It's been sort of a rough year for my Sis and even though she's had some rough moments, the Lord has blessed her greatly. I feel like this was just a wonderful end of the year date for my little girl. As she would say, "Fun times!"
