The Dilemma Of Dressing My Daughter...

Had a rude awakening last night. Size seven girls is apparently the giant leap into "juniordom." My Avery is needing dresses for the fall for church. She doesn't need jeans. Doesn't need tops. Just dresses. However, because of her height, my plan was to not get anything smaller than a seven. The child is shooting up, and the length just has to be there.

Checked Penney's, Macy's, Target, TJ Maxx, Sears, Kohl's....to NO avail. This is more along the lines of what I found:

Now, the first...I don't "mind" if that's the style, but it's short sleeve, and I was on the hunt for long sleeve. I mean, one legging outfit would be fine, but that's pretty much it. Then, you move on to the skimpy, lingerie looking junk. Not happening. Sorry.

I continued to stare longingly over at the 4-6x department and even the toddler section. THAT is how I desire to dress my daughter. Like a little girl. Because she's still a little girl. Unfortunately, in the 7-16 department, you have two choices: sparkly, glittery holiday dresses that are sweet, but not for every day church wear, or the choices above.

I finished the evening utterly disgusted. Now, it's time to check the second hand stores. I do hope I find something sweet to dress my daughter in for church this chilly season. If not, I'll have to resort to on-line orders. I have only found Land's End (below) & Children's Place on line, but even they don't have a huge selection. I'd hate to pay shipping to two sources. I do like the little dresses I found at Land's End, though, and I guess you I'm getting desperate.

If you have daughter's, besides garage sales and second hand stores and consignments, where do you shop for sweet girl's clothing?

It's painful sometimes trying to find girls clothing that doesn't look like lingerie. You may pay more online, but it's worth it to have your little girl looking like a little girl is meant to!

As soon as I read this I hopped in the car and ran over to my Goodwill...nuthin!! I can't believe they did not have any dresses for girls!!

Anyhow, it is too bad we don't sew isn't it...you could make some jumpers at least.

Love u ♥
