My Olympians....

Ok...so, I know that we've all done this as kids at some point in our lives. We pretended we were Olympians. For me, it was gymnastics. I would find something to balance on. Or I would dance across the floor doing amazing jumps. I was SO the next Mary Lou! My kids have gravitated to the water cube this Olympics. Daniel's talking about meeting Michael Phelps in person, now. Avery knows who Katie Hoff is. And did you know that Katie Hoff and her brother, Christian were homeschooled? Yep. So, the whole movement from the watercube to the track has been a bit....of a let down. However, our neighbors have a pool, and they told us we could use it yesterday. It was too chilly for mom, but the kids reproduced their own Olympic sagas. Over and over again.

Avery would set up before she would "dive" (really jump, don't worry) in. She constantly pushed her goggles into her face. Constantly. Just like on tv! She even showed me how "they" dried off after a dive or swim. Daniel, of course, was a red-headed Michael, swimming as fast, fast, fast as he could back and forth across the pool, and then letting out a triumphant whoop when he would finish, along with a a very hulk-like posture afterwards. Just like Michael. My kids are a trip. Of course, I ebb it on. I'm the official Olympian commentator. AND the official Olympian crowd. I go wild when they finish a race and I deliver scores after dives...the less splash the better. :~) I guess being a bit nut-so runs in the family!

OH by the way, Mr. Daniel made his 1st ever home run of the entire ball season Tuesday night. Yeah, I'm a bit late on that one, but I'm busy! It was awesomely great! Very exciting! Congrats to my super-athlete!

Yeah Daniel!

I have to admit I used to pretend I was an olympic figure skater in my room as a child. Gymnastics was definitely my #2 choice for Olympic greatness, however.
