Life Update

Busy bees around here! I've got a ton of things to do. My parents are coming tomorrow for a good, long weekend visit. We're very excited about that. We'll be hanging out, grilling out, watching ball games, attending a family reunion, playing corn hoe.....fun times! Bubs was feeling better yesterday, no fever, though he has gotten a cough. He felt good enough to play ball last night, and it was one of two 6:00 games he has left. It's really hard to take pictures of his games for a couple of reasons: Pictures are hard to take in the dark 8:00 games without blinding the players with my flash, and I'm too busy cheering on the guys to take pictures! He's been playing 1st base, which makes momma really nervous, but he does great. He really digs for the ball. He loves baseball. So it's hard to get action shots, but this slide show will give you an idea. There's nothing like being there, and I hope the weather holds out for Nan & Paw & Memaw & Pepaw Friday night so they can see both kids play. We've had soooo many rain outs already! By the way, is it just me or is my son getting taller by the second? He looks so "growny" out there. Crazy. Time flies.

Steve's been working like a crazy man in his new position. I'm thankful he gets the overtime, but they wore him plum out yesterday. He came home long enough to watch Bub's game and eat dinner, and then he pulled an all nighter after working all day! They are having some serious machine issues. I hope he gets to hang with us this weekend! So, he's asleep right now, planning on going in a bit later.

I started aerobics yesterday and I'm soooo glad to be back! I can only really go in the summer because of school, but when I go, I love it! I'm so sore today, but that's good! I need to go this morning, but because of my man's recent absence on the homefront, somebody has to mow, might as well be me. Plus the other kabajillion things I have to do.

Wondering what's going on in Haiti and if they've chosen a baby for me yet. :~) I wonder about my baby a lot. My power of attorney should be delivered no later than Friday translated and then it's off to the embassy. After that, they'll send it along with another family's dossier to Haiti. I would expect a referral after that. I hope anyway. It's so exciting. :~) I am glad for a busy schedule to occupy my mind, so I'm not thinking on this one aspect of my life night and day. I'm already obsessive enough!

I know you can't be real specific, but whats the approximate time frame on a referral and then on traveling?

When are the aerobic classes? How much? Is there child care? Where is it? What kind of aerobics - step? Is that enough questions for one comment? I can ask some more... :)

I can never take pictures at night either, I sometimes hate it because there can be some really good ones to take. :)

Hi Amanda,
I've seen your comments on a couple of blogs and just found my way over to yours. It is always exciting to hear another family is pursuing adoption in Haiti. I am manmi to three from Haiti (11, 9 & 5) who just came home seven months ago. Feel free to stop by our blog if you haven't already.
I hope you get your referral soon; what fun that day will be!
Blessings!
