I Met Megan!

First, an apology. It dawned on me much too late that I should have BLOGGED about this Ladies Night. Then, there would have been a chance of me meeting a few of you that I would really like to meet in person! I'm so sorry about that. I attended a "Ladies Night" campfire last night in Evansville (actually Chandler) where Megan Haug came and spoke about her work in Haiti.

Megan used to work for Three Angels, where many of my blog peeps have adopted through. She's moving on to work for Heartline Ministries and the women's programs with Tara & Troy Livesay (Remember the Medika Mamba stuff I posted about?). Anyway, she came, she spoke about the ministries and how God is radically changing her idea of loving Him. She introduced the book "Crazy Love" by Frances Chan. I want that book! So anyway, for me, that's celebrity status, man. Meeting someone that has lived in Haiti, loved the children, working with Tara & Troy, sharing their malaria germs, watching Renald grow....I was enthralled.

Here she is digging through her Haitian Creation Bag!!! I want one!!! It was sooo well made! Great carry-on bag!

More importantly, though, I was made more aware that life as a Christian doesn't look like regular life. Life as a Christian is radical. God is moving me in radical directions right now and I need to trust Him and His crazy love for me. Things I said I would NEVER do (like fly or go to a foreign country) I am now doing, for His sake. Yeah, a new kiddo in our family was our original intent, but it's become SO much more. So much beyond me. And I'm trusting God with it. 19 days & counting...

Ah, Megan, sweet Megan. I wish I could have been there! And I'm so thankful for a report of what's going on with her because she's hard to pin down! I am going to have to look up that book... The last month has been SO CRAZY around here and it's only going to get more nuts over the next year. I could use a good reminder of what's really important right now, so thanks for the recommendation!
