Thank-you for all of your well wishes and congratulations on our IBESR EXIT! Many of you may wonder what comes next.
It's called "Parquet" (Par-kay) and here's what a reputable blog describes it as:
This step involves one person(?) releasing the child(ren)'s file(s). Parquet is the head commissioner. He is intertwined with court. He asks all of the birth parents to come for interviews to make sure that they understand that their children are being adopted. Apparently there was some fraudulent activity going on and he wants to protect the birth parents interests. i.e. make sure they are in agreement.
So, we ask you to pray that Joshua's birth mother can be found quickly, and this court quickly exited. Also pray that all of our paperwork is handled correctly and any documents that need to be found or added to our file will be. In particular, I'm thinking of a death certificate that needs to be added to our file for Joshua's birth father.
Please know that there are no such things as time frames in Haiti. Surely, the year in IBESR has taught us that. However, the "guideline" for Parquet is 2-12 weeks on this website. (The guideline for IBESR was 2-6 months!) We would really like to pick up some speed, so pray along with us!

Praying that Parkay slips by like buddah! ;D
Praying! Praying! Praying!
With parquet it depends on where you are. Parquet in pap can take much longer than parquet in other parts of the country which are sometimes as quick as a week or two. Pap can take up to 8 months--anything between 1 & * mos seem to be "normal" right now.
