On Sunday, August 30, our son Joshua will celebrate his 2nd birthday in Haiti, in the New Life Link Creche.
As much as we had hoped and prayed that he would be with us for this milestone, the Lord, in His perfect will and timing, has chosen for Joshua to spend his 2nd birthday in Haiti. We trust in Him and bless His name, even in this. We are believing in God's good plan for Joshua and our family. We will celebrate on August 30th. We will celebrate the life that God has blessed Joshua with. The health. The food. The care. The good providence of being placed in a creche to survive.
Some of you would like to celebrate with us. Some of you wish that you could attend a birthday party this year. But, we have another option and we are requesting just a bit of your time to read on.
Joshua is blessed. The majority of the children in Haiti are NOT. They are starving. I'll never use the word starving again so flippantly. These children have no food. There are ministries that help these children.
If you have the time, please visit Haitian resident, Tara Livesay. Tara has committed herself to a lofty goal of running 26.2 miles in a marathon in October. There have been matching grants and such and on her website there is a "Chip In" way that you can give. 100% of the proceeds go to
Peanut butter medicine. Basically it's a very special enhanced peanut butter that's given to children in order to help them gain weight and restore some measure of health. The results of Medika Mamba are astounding. Look:
Here's a very well done video of the Medika Mamba program and how the peanut butter is actually made with Haitian peanuts. It's a Haitian product to stimulate the economy (all you'll see is babies eating peanut butter, so don't worry!)Help us celebrate Joshua's 2 year birthday by giving to Tara's Chip-In. As you chip in, thank God with us for Joshua's good health and pray that he's in our arms sooner than we could have imagined. We know that many of you have given above and beyond to help us bring Joshua home. For that we are so thankful. This year, we're asking you to look beyond us and into the country that we love, for Christ's Sake.
Should you choose to give(even a little..$4.25 is 1 serving of M.M. It takes about 15 servings to cure a child), please leave a "Happy Birthday" comment for our boy and continue to pray him home with us!
