Home School Home Stretch

Goooooo Avery!!!!
She just finished her phonics program and we're SO proud of her! She's reading like a pro!
Yep, we're rounding the last stretch in our school days! I'm sooooo glad and I'm soooo thankful that each day is becoming less to do. If Steve had to move to a different schedule I'm so thankful it was toward the end of the school year. If this had happened at the beginning I would have thrown in the towel!
Avery finished up grammar about 3 weeks ago and now phonics. Daniel is about to close up shop in spelling and reading/vocabulary, and Avery won't be far behind in spelling. Looks like the only things we'll be doing into May would be math, history and science, along with grammar for Daniel. A welcome lull.
A whole new ballgame awaits them in August. Wow. We're all excited, though.
I'm just in awe that I taught my two children to read. To read! I can't remember learning how to read when I was a kid...they may not remember, either, when they get old like me. But, wow. How can I ever forget? It's been the most amazing journey! In every subject, I've watched them blossom, really. I'm so thankful. I tossed the phonics program in the book basket, and continue to pray that I'll use it once more in the future.

You should all be proud of your accomplishments! What a great thing to be able to say you taught your kids to read. Enjoy your more relaxed schedule.

You've done an awesome job as teacher!

I'm so proud of you!!

That's right, just put those books to the side, you've got one more to teach to read yet! *happy smiles*
