I think we're still adjusting. Last week was easy. The calm before the storm. This week, not so easy. Let's hit mi vida loca in topic style, shall we?
- School. This is insane. Trying to educate while Steve is home. The kids are dying to hang out with him. He has helped quite a bit, but my schedule is just all messed up.
- Steve's Dad had some medical issues we tried to deal with toward the beginning of the week. Backfired. Steve's the youngest of 7. Oi-vay. That's all I have to say about that.
- Ginger. She's a sweet, sweet pup. And when she whines, I feel obligated to let someone entertain her. I have hooked her up with more worm meds, flea and tick control, and her first shots. And Puppy Chow. You're Welcome, Rural King, for my business.
- The Van. Oh. The. Van. Something about an intake manifold, head gasket, and oil in the water. All I know is that hissing sound. That's bad. So, I'm driving a friend's car until the mechanic dude can get around to taking our van and repairing it. He seems optimistic that he won't have to pull the engine. Oh. That's good.
- Steve's car. Yeah. It's been nickel-diming us to death. It's just a piece of a car, really. But he seems to think it's reliable yet. So he's spent every waking moment (when he wasn't taking care of his dad or making calls about the van or doing flashcards with Avery) bleeding his clutch. Don't you just LOVE this mechanical mumbo jumbo? And yet, it's been my life.
- I've worked a couple catering jobs. The money is gone before I even deposit it. Crazy.
- Just went through tons of hand me down clothes for Avery. She is set with all kinds of nice styles! Also went through what Daniel has left. His prospects aren't amazing, but not terrible, either. He definitely needs a shopping trip for a few things.
- Ball season has officially begun. Daniel had his first practice tonight. He was a head taller than most of the dudes on his team. It's his second and last year in Rookie. I have to get him to his practices and games, and Avery to her practices and games. Dad will be working. C-R-A-Z-Y. Plus, this makes Steve sooooo sad. He loves ball season. We eat and breathe the ball field in the summer.
So, this has been what it's been like. Plus we cleaned the church today. And I've been on a spring clean fest. I've typed up all sorts of things I need to do, room by room. I'm going to mark it out as I get it accomplished. Wow. Reading all of this makes me tired. Very, very tired. Good night!!!
