So, I was reading the Livesays this morning and their "Be Gone 2008" post. Everyone has different experiences, and theirs has been one of 'Change, Challenge, Letting Go, Provision." They described their year in 5 words or less and challenged readers to do the same. Because of these self described words, they are ready to wipe the slate clean, start a new year, start fresh. We've all been there.
Here's my five words:
Stepping Out, Watching Him Provide
Then, it dawned on me. Maybe that's why I am having trouble letting 2008 go. I don't want a new year to begin. I'm perfectly comfortable with this one. I like what I've seen. I like what I've experienced. I like how I've been completely blessed to see God provide. In short, I. don't. want. to. move. PERIOD. I like it right here.
Isn't it amazing how we puny-minded creatures set our limitations on the Creator of the Universe??? As if God could only work in 2008. As if His hand can be held back. As if His love only goes so far. As if He's really good at starting something, but finishing...not so much.
MAY IT NEVER BE. God take my wicked heart that has no grasp of your infinite wisdom and clean it by your power. God, bring forth 2009. I don't want to go kicking and screaming. It's so much easier to just be carried in the arms of a loving Father.
