I WON!! Decision To Make...

I won an Ebay Bid! For the first time ever! I'm more of a "buy it now" kind of girl. I don't like the way the price always rises and I'm usually outbid fairly quickly, or last minute. So, I got Steve a corduroy jacket last weekend that he adores at JC Penney on sale. He had always wanted one, "since he was a boy." So, he finally got one. He loves it. I made the decision to just give it to him instead of waiting until Christmas. He's enjoying it.

SO, Daniel made up his mind that he wanted one. Really badly. He loves to dress up. Nutty boy. He wishes he could wear ties to church all of the time, but I haven't done much shopping for him since he's really hit a growth spurt. He's out of the little fella ties and such and I need to shop in the big boy department. Anyway...he really wanted a jacket like his daddy. I looked EVERYWHERE. The only new one I found was at Land's End for 100 dollars, and frankly that wouldn't fly. So, I hit E*bay with little hope. The above jacket is what I was watching for a week! I finally made my first bid last night, only to be outbid immediately...I guess someone had a max. So, I kept bidding to find the max, and I finally hit it, with the resolve to not bid anymore. Besides, I figured that someone would surely come back and bid. There was an hour left. BUT I WON!!!! You should have seen me count it down in unbelief. I'm paying about $20 dollars more than I would have liked, but it's worth it. Now he and his dad can match. :~) I'm so excited! Besides, we've already discovered with Steve's jacket that it's soooo versatile. He can wear it with jeans, khakis, casual shirts, dress shirts....Corduroy...it's a good thing. ;~)

NOW, THE BIG QUESTION:

1)Save it for Christmas and watch his face light up under the Christmas tree Christmas morning?

2)Let him have it early so we can get our family picture done for Christmas cards with "matching men?"

What a dilemma. I'm tempted to do either one....you folks have the responsibility to lean me one way or the other. Have fun :~)

you probably know my answer to this one...
I *would* give it to him for the same reason you gave Steve his. :) The sooner they dress alike and have fun with that the better. :) But that's just my humble opinion. :P

Hi Amanda,
You could save it for christmas and watch his eyes light up but my opinion is to give it to him so that you can have christmas pictures done in them and will have a memory that will last forever and it will have a wonderful story to go along with the picture to be passed down through the generations.

Well, you know I don't deal well with delayed gratification...
I'd totally give it to him now :p

Cute!!
Oh sorry, at this age they're beyond 'cute' ... "cool dude!" is more appropriate :D

Wow....that is really nice. For some reason I was under the impression that it was a casual kick around jacket. He'll look so nice in it no matter when you decide to give it to him. ;D

Im more practical I guess. I'd say give it to him now so he can wear it ALL winter long! If you wait until end of December then he wont get as much wear out of it :)

I'm with the majority here. I love the father and son photo idea. I would suggest having Dad give it to him. Maybe Dad could ask Daniel to go get his jacket out of the closet for him and you could have both jackets in there together with "father" and "son" tags... or something along those lines?

Besides, you've got enough waiting going on with Haiti. :)

I am an ebayer! :) Love it! I think you should save it, one less present you have to worry about...but that's me. I am starting to panic about how close Christmas is...and how much I have left to do! Either way I am sure you'll make his day!
