Saturday was an amazing day! The guys rose early...some of them at 4 am, to start the pit fires and then they went to retrieve the meat. Then they unpackaged the meat, sprinkled the salt and pepper, and loaded the pits. From there, it was a "turn and wait" situation. The guys took turns turning the meat. It looked easy, but the smoke from the pits quickly made my eyes water, just by walking by. It was quite a job. I was a runner, retrieving all of the coolers we borrowed, tables, chairs, signs, money, markers, ice, drinks, etc. The gals and I sat up the tables so you could see the signs from the road.
People began stopping at 9:30 in the MORNING for meat! It wasn't even ready yet! We held them back as long as we could and then BAM! Things got crazy! I wasn't able to get pictures as it was our job (the ladies) to package meat, and once we started, we could not stop! We sold out of ribs quicker than you could say Porky Pig! The chickens went just as quick, but we had more of them. The burgers sold fast, the preorders were picked up, and then those that were left after 1, we sold at half price. In less than five minutes. CRAZY!

We completely felt God's blessing on the day. People were stopping, offering to buy meat, leaving the change, offering donations, just amazing! Steve and I both felt so blessed to be surrounded by our church family that fully supports our adoption in such a practical, hard-working way! As soon as it was all over, we went home and crashed. Literally. Well. First we counted the money.
And we were amazed! I'm so excited to share, that our country fee is paid for! As soon as they let us know that we've "exited IBESR," we'll be able to send them the money! Hallelujah! What a major blessing and load lifted!
This coming weekend, we're being blessed yet again with a multifamily yardsale to benefit our adoption. The kids will be hosting the bake sale table. This should cover the remainder of the agency fee, along with starting our travel savings. Isn't that amazing???
A year ago, our pastor encouraged us to "Let God Be God." It's all His. If this is His will for us, He'll provide a way. And He DID. I am confident in our God. He will sustain us through this process. I know that it will be often hard, but I know He's begun this work. He'll finish it.

Oh Amanda... It's all I could do to not burst into tears when I read this! What a BEAUTIFUL way for everyone to show you their love and support. How precious is that? God is so good indeed!
I had promised myself that I would not worry about the money for Jacques adoption too and just today my husband got a call at work and we have been blessed with a huge amount of unexpected money too! It's way more then enough. It's just another way God shows us His love and provisions too when we follow His will.
Praising God with you today dear friend!!!!
