Our Ohio Visit

We had lots of fun visiting Mom & Dad while Steve drove on up to PA for business. He dropped us off in Ohio :~) We explored the countryside, mostly, and enjoyed a sweet little rural Ohio "down town" scene. Our first ever true "ice cream parlor" icecream. Down town gift shops, cafes, thrift stores, a neat drive in with corndogs...the best thing was the castle. We didn't explore the inside as it cost money, but the outside was good enough :~) I've never heard my kid's imaginations go wild quite like they did that day after a visit to a "real castle." Talk of ogres, witches, kings and queens, spells and potions....some of the primitive country stores fit right in with their imaginations with the halloween decor already out.

Avery had a great time watering Nan's flowers and cleaning up some of her garden pretties. Her favorite thing was the fairy garden under Nan's big tree. She enjoyed cleaning it up and decorating it with grape leaves. :~) Oh, and we stopped to visit a covered bridge. Ohio has a lot of them.

As for me, I enjoyed my visit with my mom & pop! I didn't see much pop, as he was working midnights and needed his sleep. But, mom took me around town one day and kept up with the kiddos as I browsed the scrapbook selection at Hobby Lobby & Joann's. I'm planning on finishing our scrapbook of our Florida vacation a year ago, and I need to start Joshua's fun scrapbook. :~) Lots of fun times in Ohio. We've visited twice this summer! And both trips, it was unusually cool, so we've enjoyed beautiful weather, too!
