A Few Things....

  • We had a great Memorial Day picnic, even though the first half of the day threatened to be a rain-out! Volleyball, grilling, DESSERT! Yay for picnics!
  • Steve planted the majority of our garden plot Saturday. Hopefully, we'll have veggies to share later in the summer!
  • I'm planning on calling the local orchard tomorrow and inquiring about berry picking. I called last week and the berries weren't quite ready yet...they said to call back this week. I can't wait to make berry-licious summer recipes.
  • We're going "Webkinz" shopping on Wednesday. Those are little stuffed animals that have a "cyber" identity. Cheesy, yes. However, Sis and her best bud can play on the computer once the big move happens (in 4 days) so she's very excited. It's our kindergarten graduation gift to her.
  • I absolutely love summer time. It's my favorite time. Late nights, lightning bugs, the smell of sun block, floating in pools, lots of birthdays, sleeping in. Yay for summer!
  • I had that feeling everyone warned me about kick in this weekend. That, "I don't feel like I'm really adopting" feeling. That rush, rush, rush to get the paperwork complete is over. It's just waiting. And doing nothing. Bummer.

Have a good week!

I've been thinking about getting out to the orchard. Do you know of any places around here that grow blueberries? I know its not time for them yet, but I'd love to find a place to pick this year.

Can you let us know when the berries are ready?! I am hoping to be able to take the kids out and do that this season. I was hoping it was getting close.

Janna I am STILL TOTALLY bummed that my parents left their wonderful blueberry trees at their old house...scads of blueberries to pick each summer (late summer I think). I am hoping my little blueberry tree here will someday produce...it does have tiny little berries on it this year so I am hopeful!! I love blueberries.
