I Want To Be The One

These photos were taken by an adoptive mom that visited the creche last week.  These are the first glimpses we've had of Joshua since our visit.  There hasn't been any update on our case.

I've been losing lots of sleep here lately.  The further the days slip past from our trip, the harder it gets.  I don't want him to forget us. So here, I am, awake, again.  Wishing it were me that woke him from his little nap in these photos...and what I wouldn't give to rub that sweet head....praying.  Lots of praying.

I want to be the one that tucks  you into bed,

That hears your whimpering cry,

And kisses your sweet head.

I want to be the one whispering in your ear,

sweet lullabies and gospel truths,

Your heart needs to hear.

But I am the one who waits and prays,

the never-ending prayer,
God give me an endless love,

And trust that You are there.

Even when I'm not the one.
