Just received an email from USCIS, Haiti regarding Joshua Steven Burke (I like that part)
The Birth Parent Interview TOOK PLACE YESTERDAY!!!!!
What a GLORIOUS answer to prayer! We are so happy that we do not have to wait on another rescheduled appointment!
They ARE requiring DNA testing, but that's ok with us, because the appointment happened on time. If it had been rescheduled, that would be a long wait.
DNA, from what I've been told, takes 6 weeks or so to get back, so we need to get on that right away. I'm SOOO thankful. They also need an authenticated death certificate from Joshua's biological father, but at this point, I don't think I have any reason to fret over that, because surely they required that for his biological brother who is now home in the states, so I'm sure they'll be able to get that.
Praising God today for such a wonderful answer to prayer!
(Now, back to regularly schedule blogging...the Haitian food post is below!)

Hooray! I am so relieved for you that the parent interview went well.
Thank you also for all of the mosquito info! We will be staying in the city for about a week. Yes, we do plan to spend MUCH needed time with our children there. We're in process (and have been since June 2007) with a 4.5yr old girl and her 2.5yr old bio. brother. It has now officially been over a year since we were last there and it has been agony! So, we plan to take a long cool drink, per say, of our time together. We were last updated on our adoption in July and were told we had just exited IBESR. The silence can be deafening, but we know that it is all in the Lord's hands and that His timing is perfect and always on time! never late, but also never early.
take care and know we're celebrating with you on the other side of the pond!
