Seperation Anxiety

My poor Sis. She's struggling as the trip gets closer. She is getting so worked up over us going to Haiti. She's worried about our safety. She is just petrified that we won't come home to her.
So, we pray with her. We encourage her and point her to God, who loves her like crazy. She is very much a momma's girl. Very. Much. More than I realized.
So, I hold her and silently pray. I put on a smile for her and comfort her the best I know how. I tuck her in. Then, I go to my room and quietly cry my eyes out. I can't STAND leaving her.
Daniel is showing his maturity. He is encouraging her and being positive and upbeat. He'll be a good big brother to her while we are away.
We are preparing bags for the kids that have a surprise for each day that we're gone. They'll enjoy that. I'm going to try and call them as often as I can.
I'll be SO glad when my family is all together in one place. This extended experience is just. not. cool. We are totally, desperately ready for God to intervene and finish this.

Ouch this must be very hard for you. Whatever you do - do not promise her a phone call or email. In Haiti things don't work as well as they do here. So allow for the unexpected like zero use of phone or internet. Let the phone calls and/or emails be a surprise to her. It will make her sick with worry if you tell her you will call and then you are unable!

Awww...she is just like her Mommy was and still is! (((hugs))) to both of you!

Praying for a safe journey there and back! And it will help that Abbie will be there to distract her too.
