Mountain Scenes & Cades Cove

I can't imagine what the Rocky Mountains or the Grand Canyon would be like for me, because I am simply in awe at the stunning scenery of the Smokies. On a clear day, the mountains swoop as far as my eye can see, and on an overcast day, I'm in the clouds!

Our cabin was even located up "Ski Mountain Road" and tucked away near the top! I'm not a real good "mountain traveler" by the way. I'd much rather hike on my own two feet, I found out. Hair pin turns, one lane roads, gravel one lane roads, constantly switching gears down, and a GPS that had no earthly idea where we were...but the scenery was worth it (for the most part!)

Wear's Valley....I loved the barn

Our last day, we took a trip to Cade's Cove. I'll spare you the adventure story, but let's leave it at "it was a Loooooong Day." I did manage to get some shots of Cades Cove before I completely lost interest and just wanted to be home already :~)

I hear you. THere was construction when we went the 19 mi road up Pike's Pike. I was green by the top. I'd done it a few years earlier and was okay.

Beautiful! It makes me long to go back to my birthplace of West Virginia.
