So far, so good with Ms. Ginger. She's a really, really sweet natured pup. She's been inside through the night and quite a bit during the day as it's cold outside. She likes to cuddle down under the kitchen table. After she chases the baseball. And gnaws on the rawhide bone. And chases my broom as I sweep. That's really funny. She goes after the broom. Hilarious. She's made herself right at home. We're dealing with a "pup issue" (worms) that my daughter decided to announce to everyone in her Wednesday night church class last night. Instead of saying, "Hey everybody, I have a dog!" She says, "Hey everybody, I have a dog and she has worms!"
Super.
For inquiring minds, yes she's on a treatment. Ahhhh...being a dog owner.
We're also adjusting to Steve's new schedule. Everyone's doing fairly well, so far. We definitely miss him in the evenings. Mornings are soooo chaotic and much more loud than before, and now the evenings are quiet. Very quiet. I actually watched Oprah and Dr. Phil yesterday. Not that I would make a habit of that, but Oprah had budget cooking and Dr. Phil had the octuplets, so don't judge me. :~P Steve's been keeping pretty busy taking care of day time stuff that he couldn't before, so school's not affected a great deal. He fixes bathroom sinks, takes the tires to be rotated, tils the garden, makes visits to his dad in the hospital, runs to Walmart for me. Kinda nice. I think he's slowing down a bit and realizing that he also needs to chill while he's home, since he'll be working later! He was the substitute teacher today while I catered a lunch.
So, days are busy around here. Spring is on it's way! I have hyacinths on my kitchen table that smell gloriously beautiful!!! It may spit snow outside of my window, but I still smell spring.
Yesterday, a year ago, we were in Louisville getting our fingerprints done for the adoption. Here we are, a year later, wondering what in the world is the hang up in IBESR. I've not heard ONE encouraging word. The lack of communication drives me absolutely BATTY. I'm definitely being stretched.
Other than that, life is going forward....can't stop time. So, word of the week is adjusting.

Totally with you on the IBESR battiness ... Hoping and praying ...
Glad the adjustment is going OK. Still, I know it's hard.
Praying!
I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU WATCHED OPRAH AND DR. PHIL!
Your puppy is cute, but Joshua is cuter! I'm new to your blog and will stick around for a bit. :)
Come see my Haitian girls who have been home for 7 months.
Nothing like a puppy to cheer you up! I have thought about it...but have decided (for now) not to let myself cave until AFTER my Haitian princess is potty trained, LOL. I agree, this wait is enough to make me crazy.....PLEASE LORD SOON!! =)
