I'm sustained by grace.
He fixed all the circumstances in the lot of individuals...He ordained that our file would sit somewhere, waiting. He knows the exact second that the file will be picked up and signed.
The care of Providence reaches to the most insignificant creatures, and the moste minute events-the death of a sparrow, and the fall of a hair. God knows how many hairs fell out of my head and are sitting in my tub drain. That seems utterly ridiculous to say. That's something we don't even care about. And yet, He knows even that. So, it's safe to say He knows when each lonely tear drop falls from my baby boy's chocolate brown eyes. Those are way more important than hairs. He knows when tears flow like rain from my eyes. He cares. He's bringing forth His purposes, even in that.
I've experienced more peace this week than I have in a while....but it's not the outworkings of my own will. It's the clinging that I am doing to my Father's attributes. Just to say to myself "He has it all under control!" Nothing is spiraling out into the deepest unknown realm. He's obviously working out His plans in our lives. He knows my desires. He hears my prayers. What else can I do, but bow low and wait?
So that's what I do. But I don't deny that I would really, really, really like for whomever is in charge of signing off on our file to do just that. Pick up their pens and sign. Soon. We've already gone over the "estimated time of being in IBESR." (Yeah, they say 2-6 months...we're working on 7 right now) God knows the exact moment that person will pick that pen up.
For your info, here's what's left, once we escape IBESR. May it stir you to pray, as you see the lengthy list of things left to do:
Civil Judge
Parquet
Civil State Officer
Archive
Minister of Justice
Minister of Interior
Political Affairs
DHS
Visa
God is good...all the time.
(Thank-you, Mr. Pink, for writing Attributes of God)

Praise God for His grace! It is such a miracle that he knows us so intimately. Praying!
I feel your pain and am right there with you. We have been waiting for 6 months and waited for 7 months before that, just to get into IBESR. It seems our time to get out must be soon:O)
If I didn't already know you were reading Pink's book, I would have guessed just by reading this post!
I can't stress enough what an invaluable resource "The Attributes of God" is to adoptive families. If you are adopting- GET IT! Peace awaits!
We're heading into our seventh month as well ... may it be SOON for us all ...
Girl, I'm praying for you (& Joshua) & rejoicing to see God at work in your heart and life during this excruciating wait...
I was reminded of this verse when I read your 3rd paragraph & thought it might be an encouragement to you...
Psalm 56:8 --
You have kept count of my tossings;
put my tears in your bottle.
Are they not in your book?
Love ya!! Call me. I'd love to get together with you soon, & even spend some time praying together, if you want. :)
