A Watched Pot Never Boils....

And Stalking Your Cell Phone Won't Make It Ring.
--Timely word of wisdom that I made up. Just because I'm living it. Oh.How.I.Am.Living.It.
I try. Really, I do. I try not to pay attention to my phone. I mentally tell myself that it's PROBABLY NOT the adoption agency each time it rings, before I see who it is.

I walk to it in a very casual, this-is-not-an-important-phone-call kind of way.
I answer non-chalantly. Don't want anyone thinking I'm bitterly disappointed that they called me or anything.
I barely look at my phone after aerobics (which is usually when I hear from the agency, at least that's been the pattern), and I tell myself, "Self, if there's nothing there in that hour, what are the chances that there will be anything the rest of the day?"
I count down until Friday. Time is beginning to tick WAY slower and SO FAST at the same time. Odd. Odd.
Tomorrow, we'll clear two weeks into November. TWO WEEKS. All's quiet in the IBESR update blog. Haven't seen any escapee in November yet. Of course, I know that not all adoptees stalk the internet. Like me. Maybe some have escaped.
Well, I'm off to the last day of Body Boot Camp. He'll probably torture us. It's a good way to spend an hour not stalking. And the concert last night was AWESOME, by the way. Who knew hymns could totally ROCK?!?

It's hard not to be a stalker, even when you expect not to hear anything. I think EVERY adoptive parent has this syndrome. Let's come up with a name for it...

Hey amanda,

we have been in IBESR since March of this year.
Going on 8 months, and each day is harder than the last.
Any news with your process?
Praying for all the files in Haiti right now.
